State Fair Fun!

Well, we went to the state fair tonight and had so much fun! Had good food with good friends and the weather was perfect for fair-going! Maja and Addie had a blast eating all sorts of yummy foods and going on tons of rides! We had a blast people watching and just hanging out, some much needed family fun! :)

While the boys are away, the girls will play!

Well, today the boys took a day to play "hookie" so us girls thought that we better have some fun too! So Pete and OJ (along with a troop of others) went to the woods somewhere to snowmobile and be real men...so Amber and I thought we would keep with woman tradition and hit up the mall! Oh yeah, did we have the funnest day I have ever had with Maja! We started the day at the Water Park of America! The girls played in the water all morning and half the afternoon...it was a wonderful place to get out and play, the park is amazing for kids! Then we thought we better hit the MOA (Mall of America) and the girls could sleep while we did a little bit of shopping! Then after our feet were sore from walking around the mall we took Maja and Addie to the Underwater World! The girls LOVED it! We got to see all sorts of cool fish and sharks, and Maja even got to touch the back of a stingray! It was the greatest, most exhausting day...so much fun being a girl!

Christmas 07

What a wonderful Christmas. Maja was so much fun this year, she really got into opening presents and wanted to play immediately with all of her new toys! She did such a great job and was so much fun to watch...as you can see "Santa" was very good to her this year, she really has been a good girl all year long! When it comes to "toys" her and Pete and her are like two peas in pod...things that move, and go FAST! She loves that Jeep and will sit in it all day long...you should see her hold on and hit the gas, it is a riot!

On the creative side, just like her mom...well almost!

Maja has definately tapped into her creative side, she is LOVING coloring and designing new things with her markers and crayons! Now she even got an easel and supplies from Grandma and Grandpa Anderson, as well as a bunch of great new art supplies from Grandma & Grandpa Henslin! Watch out...Maja will color everything she can reach with the marker--even her own face, as you can see by some of the pictures! She also loves to eat the markers....so we are trying to emphasize crayons now a days--that side of her is probably more like Pete!!! ha ha ha.

Let it snow, Let it snow, Let it snow!!!

We are SO excited each time we see snow! Today Maja actually got to go outside and play in it! It wasn't too cold out today, so we got out there and got to see her explore! She loved being able to play outside, even though it was chilly out! You should have seen her trying to walk through the big piles of snow with her boots on...it was so cute. She did such a great job tromping around, a little trooper! She actually just loved being outside and free to run around and play! Usually when there is snow that means daddy isn't home, but today he got to take a break from plowing and come home to play for a little bit! Winter and being stuck inside all the time get's hard on a 16 month old! Lucy and her enjoyed the fun time outside!

Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree...

Well, this year we continuted our Christmas Tree tradition with our good friend's the Eddy's (Mark, Bridget, Lauren and Ryan) and went to get our Christmas tree's together! Not only do we bundle the kids up and head out...but we cut down our own tree's too! Maja was going to help Pete cut the tree down, but once she got close to the tree she had a change of heart! Even though...this year Maja and Lucy picked out a great tree, I forget what kind it is...a Balsam Fir, something soft to the touch!? So, we picked out our tree's and then went back to the Eddy's and had pizza! Such a fun night, one of our favorite traditions! :)

Maja is a social butterfly!

Maja is loving to play with her friends lately! It is so fun to watch her interact with other little cuties! This is Maja and her "baby Evelina" our neighbor. Maja is fascinated with her and loves to play with her...mostly all of her baby things! She gives her kisses and is just starting to learn to share! Somedays are better than others, but this day Evelina was over playing and Maja did a pretty good job sharing her piano! They were so cute! Evelina's mom and dad (Lauren and Nate) are some of the best neighbors anyone could ask for...we are so lucky to have them and little Evelina next door! They all have become very good friends. As you can see they also have Lucy's best friend nextdoor as well...Scruffy and Lucy are two pea's in a pod! It is such a blessing to have great friends as neighbors as well! :)

Down on the farm...

Today Pete took Maja (and Lucy) for a tractor ride in his new tractor! I wasn't sure if she would like it or not...needless to say they took about a half-hour ride! Maja was having a blast! She got to steer and had so much fun riding with daddy up and down the street! As you can see I even took the new tractor for a spin...I have to admit, it was pretty fun! So we had a fun Henslin family day in the tractor!

Maja's new cousin Josie arrived!

Well, Maja's first little cousin Josie Ann Sandberg arrived last week! She was 8lbs 1 oz (same as Maja) and 20.5" long! She is an absolute doll! Pete's cousin Andy and his wife Kelly are doing great...quite a change with a little one around! We are so glad she has a little playmate, we know they will grow up to be the best of friends! Here are some pictures of Maja when we went to visit Josie, she was so cute and gave her kisses and was fascinated by this little sweetheart!

Happy Halloween!

Well, our first big Halloween was a huge success! We took Maja and Lucy down to the Henslin's to go trick-or-treating and it was so fun! We got to see Grandma Debbie and Papa Merv, Unlce Jeff and Aunt Pam and then went to surprise Great Grandma Alice and Great Grandpa Pete! Everyone was so surprised and so excited to put candy in Maja's pumpkin bag (which Patty, a friend of Grandma Debbie's made for Maja...it was beautiful!)...you should have seen Maja squeal with excitement when that candy dropped in the bag! Both Maja and Lucy were pumpkins...so cute! Grandpa Blu got to come and see Maja in her costume after work, couldn't miss such a "little pumpkin!" So, our first Halloween was a great success...Maja had a little trouble sleeping, but I am sure it was from all the sugar she got to feast on that night, but we all recovered just fine!
